Celebrations at Trivandrum
Pallotti Day celebration in Trivandrum was held on
23 January
2012 at Pallottigiri. Rt. Rev. Vincent Samuel,
Bishop of Neyyattinkara presided over the Eucharistic celebrations. During the
Eucharist 14 lay faithful took apostolic commitment to UAC.

The Feast of St. Vincent
Pallotti was celebrated by the Indore community
in parish as well as in the seminary on 22 January. The main celebrant for the
festal mass and the chief guest for the evening programme was the Rt. Rev.
Chacko Thottumarickal, the bishop of Indore. The feast
day mass was celebrated along with the procession with the statues Mother Mary,
St. Sebastian and St. Vincent Pallotti in the morning. Later in the evening the
feast day celebration was continued in the seminary with a short cultural
programme and dinner.

The feast of St. Vincent
Pallotti was celebrated with great solemnity at Pallotti Bhawan, Nagpur with a
prayerful and touching liturgy and delightful dinner. The theme of the
celebration was, “Call to Holiness.” Most Rev. Abraham Viruthakulangara, the archbishop
of Nagpur, presided
over the Eucharistic celebration; and in his homily preached on the holiness of
life of St. Vincent Pallotti, and encouraged all embrace a life of holiness.
Around 450 people consisting of priests, religious and lay associates and well
wishers partook in the celebrations. During the liturgy the 78 UAC members
consisting of priests, sisters, brothers and lay members renewed their
apostolic commitment to UAC. To mark the beginning of the Jubilee year of the
Canonization of St. Vincent Pallotti, the Jubilee prayer was recited by all and
an audio CD on St. Vincent Pallotti in Hindi prepared by PAC was released by
the archbishop.

Khristsevikas are completing
50 years of their foundation in India. The
Thanksgiving Eucharist was celebrated on December 28, 2011 at Sacred Heart Parish Church, Yerawada, Pune by Most Rev. Thomas Dabre, Bishop of Pune. Many
Pallottines including very Rev. Fr. Jacob Nampudakam, Rector General and Rev.
Fr. Augustine Varickakal, Provincial took part in the celebrations. We
congratulate Ms. A. Regina Silvia, the President, and all the Khristsevikas, on
this joyous occasion and pray for God’s choicest blessings upon them.

from Nagpur make Apostolic Commitment to UAC
Six lay persons from Nagpur made
apostolic commitment to UAC during the solemn Eucharist celebration officiated
by Very Rev. Fr. Jacob Nampudakam, the Rector General on 26 December 2011, on the
feast day of St. Stephen. After several years of collaboration with Pallottines
in Nagpur and two
years of formation, these six chose make the act of commitment to lead an
apostolic life following the teachings of St. Vincent Pallotti. It has raised
the number of lay UAC members in Nagpur to 45.

The Christmas celebration in
Zambian mission was extraordinary this year. On 27 December 2011 a Christmas party was
organized for the orphans and other needy children. A total of 1,015 children
were given very good meal and some gifts. A class on the importance of
Christmas was also organised.

St.
Vincent Pallotti School at Nagpur organised a
five-day annual concert from 17-21 December 2011. On the first day the students
high school staged the cultural event and on the second day by the students of
primary session. The following three days the tiny tots of nursery, LKG and UKG
staged programmes respectively. The annual concerts were very well attended and
appreciated. On 20 December
2011 very Rev. Fr. Augustine Varickakal blessed and
inaugurated the new auditorium of the school.

new church at Kattoor and very Rev. Fr. Augustine Varickakal, the Provincial
laid the foundation stone in the presence of Rev. Fr. Mathew Panakal, the
Parish Priest and other confreres and parishioners. We wish parishioners and
confreres all success and pray for God’s blessings for its speedy completion.

on 04 December

The Holy Family Parish at
Mandevu, Lusaka celebrated
World Aids Day on 1 December
2011. It consisted of an awareness procession, Holy
Mass and some awareness programmes especially for people who are affected one
way or the other with the onset of HIV and AIDS.

School at Nagpur organised a
chess competition under the banner: St.
Vincent Pallotti Memorial Vidarbha Inter-School Open Chess
Championship. It is for the third consecutive year that the
school is organizing the competition. There were 230 participants from the
various schools of Vidarbha to contest and prove their intellectual
superiority. The opening ceremony was officiated on 25 November 2011 by Rev. Fr. Manoj
Punchakunnel; and concluding ceremony and prize distribution by Rev. Fr. Saji
Punchal on 27 November
2011.

The Pastoral Commission of the
Province under the leadership Rev. Fr. Varghese Pullan organized a study
Seminar on the Pallottine Parish Profile for the members of the Indore Local
Community from 9-10 November 2011. It was held at Mary Queen of Apostles Church at Sangam
Vihar, Delhi. From five
communities of Indore Local Community, ten confreres attended the seminar.
Seminar made a deep study of the Pallottine Parish Profile and Pastoral Mission
Statement and decided to make a full and clear vision and mission statement for
each parish. It was an opportunity to review our parish ministry as well.

The self help groups in Taliha
area of Siyum parish celebrated their first ever SHG day on Saturday 22nd
October. Many groups especially of women in an around taliha area came for this
programme. The day started with the SHG rally through the streets of Taliha. It
was followed by a public meeting and competitions for different groups. For the
group members it was day to showcase their achievements to boost themselves in
their journey to the well being and development of their families and the
village at large.

From 22-29 September 2011
there took place for the first time a meeting of those members engaged in the
social-charitable apostolate at the 'Cenacle' centre at Via Giuseppe Ferrari, Rome, organised
by the General Secretariat for the Apostolate. Rev. Frs. Abraham Thylammanal and
Anthony Kaithaparambil participated in this Meeting from Prabhu Prakash Province, Nagpur. Reflecting
on texts of St. Vincent Pallotti regarding the social- charitable apostolate
and visiting places linked to such work of our Founder, the participants had
the opportunity to see how they could deepen the Pallottine charism in their
own work. In their sharing it was revealed that we are doing our utmost, for
example, for the poor, orphans, homeless, drug addicts, lepers, HIV sick and
the terminally ill. Furthermore, an overview was presented of the
social-charitable apostolate of the SAC based on the results of a survey
conducted by the General Secretariat in the first months of 2011
